I have been involved acute hospital care since 1989 in a variety of surgical and senior nursing roles. My research has focused on the effectiveness of interventions using randomised controlled trials and systematic review with the Clinical Trials Research Unit (now the National Institute of Health Innovation). My work has been funded by substantial grants from the HRC, Heart Foundation and the Ministry of Health, with peer reviewed publications in leading journals.
