Tevita has been the Chief Executive Officer of The Fono since July 2010, with an extensive career working with Pacific communities in health and education. Of Tongan heritage, Tevita leads the operational arm of The Fono, with responsibilities including liaising with The Fono’s Board and Senior Management Team, strategic planning and implementation, overseeing financial management, contract and business development (including with MoH, DHBs, PHO, and MSD), marketing, legal compliance, policy and human resources at The Fono. Prior to joining The Fono Tevita was the Pacific Health Manager for ProCare Health Ltd and was the National Pasifika Liaison Advisor for Massey University. He has also managed an Employment Consultancy and Project Management Services firm and worked in health services. Currently, Tevita is the Chairperson of Oceania Career Academy, Chairman of ProCare Network Ltd, Chair of ProCare Community Engagement Committee and a member of its Pacific Advisory Board. Tevita is also a member of the Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel for Auckland Council, Member of the Pacific Advisory Board to the Waitemata Police District Commander and Member of the Waitakere Family Violence Taskforce. Tevita is an active member of the Pacific community for West Auckland and a strong advocate for their wellbeing. He is part of the Avondale Tongan Catholic community; the Board of Trustees' Chairperson for St Mary's School, Avondale and sits on a number of community boards. Tevita has a BCom from Otago University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management from Unitec.
